The NFL season is five weeks in, and so far, No. 1 pick Caleb Williams has had an up and down start to his career.
However, he is on the upswing, with his Chicago Bears winning two in a row and averaging 30 points per game over the last two.
He’s also thrown three touchdowns and no picks in those two wins, as opposed to the two TDs and four picks he threw in the Bears’ first three games, in which they went 1-2.
So, has he reasserted himself as the early favorite for OROY?

Let’s look at the betting board at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct. 7.
2024-25 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds:
Jayden Daniels, Commanders: -230 (bet $10 to win $14.35 total)
Caleb Williams, Bears: +300 (bet $10 to win $40 total)
Malik Nabers, Giants: +475 (bet $10 to win $27.50 total)
Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Bo Nix, Broncos: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Two weeks ago, Williams had dropped to fourth on the board with odds of +650. But now, he’s back to second, trailing only the second pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in Daniels, whose odds continue to shorten as he continues to shine.
Daniels’ Commanders are 4-1 and have won four straight. To his name, he has 1,135 passing yards and four TDs, with just two picks.
He also has 300 rushing yards and four rushing scores.
After five weeks, Daniels’ passer rating of 106.3 is good for fifth in the NFL.
Williams’ Bears and Daniels’ Commanders will go head-to-head in Week 8 in Washington.
