The Ohio State has cruised to a 5-0 record and now has the best odds to make the 12-team playoff at -1600.
After the Buckeyes defeated Iowa 35-7, their odds shortened from -1000.
The Playoff is officially expanding to 12 teams this year, meaning an early-season loss or midseason conference loss might not torpedo a program’s chances of competing for a national title, like in years past.
That’s an important note, considering a few big-name programs have already suffered defeats.

Taking a tumble was Tennessee, moving to +110 from -310. The Vols’ 19-14 loss to Arkansas caused a shift in their chances at securing a spot in the postseason.
